2013 - 2014 Season
Celebrate the 30th Anniversary Season of Bellevue Chamber Chorus!
From the Director
Welcome to the 30th
Anniversary Season of Bellevue Chamber Chorus!
I’m very excited to return from last year’s
sabbatical to lead the ensemble in three splendid
concerts celebrating this milestone
in the group’s history.
From a delightful holiday program
featuring Benjamin Britten’s
Christmas masterpiece in his
centenary year, to the inspiring
with our colleagues in the
Kirkland Choral Society (also
celebrating their 25th anniversary)
and Philharmonia Northwest,
to an uplifting finale “In Praise
of Music” itself,
of diverse musical
riches for your enjoyment.
Our success and
longevity as a musical organization over these
past three decades is
directly related to the ongoing support
and patronage of you, our audience, for which we are deeply grateful.
So we invite you to celebrate with us in this
exciting anniversary year as we continue to share
with you the glories of great
holiday season in
old and new. Featuring
Benjamin Britten’s beloved A
Ceremony of Carols
for chorus and harp (in honor of the composer’s 100th-anniversary year), the
concert also includes Renaissance masterworks, splendid
contemporary pieces by
William Hawley (O magnum mysterium),
Robert Young (There Is No Rose),
and Howard Helvey (See,
Amid the Winter’s Snow),
new setting by Matthew
Nielsen of the familiar
It Came Upon a Midnight Clear,
and a variety of international carols.
sure to be a highlight in your
